Home App on MacOS not syncing with Home App on IoS devices

Hi - I am running the latest versions of the Home App on my Mac Studio & MacBookPro and also on my iPhones and iPads.

I have many home devices and recently add a few more, moved a few around and created new groups and automations using one of my iPads.

These changes show up on all my IOS devices on the Home App on my MacBook Pro; BUT not on the Home App on my Mac Studio.

I considered uninstalling the home app on my MacStudio and reinstalling it b- but this does not appear as simple as I had hoped.

In addition it appears using the macOS app on my Mac Studio I cannot make any changes - they simply "cannot complete"

How can one RESET and or REINSTALL the Home App on macOS WITHOUT deleting the existing HOME set up?

I tried "removing" my UK home home -- this did work but applied across ALL my devices and so I now need to add back all my accessories, which of course is more that a we bit irritating.
