finder hanging after updating to Sonoma 14.4.1

Finder hanging after updating to Sonoma 14.4.1.

TextEdit works for a few moments.

The finder beachballs when trying access a file or program.

Copying files to another server causes the finder to hang.

can't expand/access and archived file/app.

I've restarted my machine. And, restarted the finder multiple times, but no luck.

does anyone have any idea what to do with this?

I deleted the finder preferences and restarted.

that seems to have fixed the problem.

I am able to run in safe mode.

TextEdit opens an does not hang up.

The finder is stable.

How do I run in normal mode and not have the finder not screw up.

It's not just text edit that is not running right. Audacity is also hanging.

Adobe Acrobat also hangs.

There may be others. I have not checked all my apps.
