Ordered two W6800X Duo MPX modules - order delayed and delayed

I have ordered two Radeon Pro W6800X Duo MPX modules through Apple Australia and the initial shipping date has passed and now they have been delayed another 2-3 weeks.

All of the Apple store support people on the phone cannot tell me if the cards are really available (they are out of stock everywhere else) and what the hold up really is. It's frustrating and customers shouldn't be kept in the dark like that, especially not given the amount of money involved.

More annoying is I can see Apple have the cards in stock on their Amazon Sweden store at 64,000kr each - but I'm geo-blocked from buying from there.

Are there any other ways I can follow up and just get an answer - will I get my order? Otherwise I'll have to go exclusively with Windows and run Radeon W7900 cards (Apple doesn't support them in MacOS). It's been almost an entire month waiting.

It's now the end of the original shipping window (4 June 2024) and the cards are still shown as "processing" and now the new delivery window is 18/06/2024 - 25/06/2024.

The last Apple rep I spoke to last week insisted they would be delivered today and nothing has changed.

I'm getting fed up.

Apple has never been good with shipping estimates. No one at Apple will be able to give you any more information other than the ETA you have already received. Unfortunately you will just have to continue waiting or cancel the order. The best you can do is wait until the next ETA window expires & try contacting Apple again to plead your case about it taking so long.....no use doing anything before that time (personal experience from decades of dealing with Apple).

You can contact Apple corporate to lodge a complaint about the process as well as to offer a suggestion that the purchase page should clearly provide an ETA on when the item will ship before the purchase is finalized.

Like @Grant mentioned, if the item hasn't been made yet, Apple cannot really ship you anything.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find any contact method for Apple Corporate.

The various support people kept telling me absolutely the cards would be delivered - “you can be sure”. Even when I questioned them - do you actually have them?

Now tonight they changed the order to Sold Out.

That is quite different to 3 weeks which was the original estimate when the items were listed on the website.

Most likely they were never, ever available and never were going to be.

I have already been in touch with consumer authorities here a few weeks back about this possibility. They asked me to contact them back if still problems and I will.

If I’d known this was going to be such a saga I’d have got the cards from Amazon Sweden’s Apple Store through a third party to go around the geo-block.
