How to connect USB SuperDrive to iMacPro via USB Port

Trying to install my USB SuperDrive by connecting it to my iMacPro via a USB Port on the backside fails. HELP!

The empty USB SuperDrive will not show up in Finder or on the Desktop.

It is the inserted CD or DVD that shows up in Finder or on the Desktop.
