There is a limit for contributing to other threads on apple discussions, Why is that? I keep getting limited.

There is a posting frequency limit as a spam protection measure. As you advance in points, the limit may relax.
Also older inactive threads get locked after a certain period of time. Look for this banner:
If you are coming here from a search engine, the search engine will not show locked threads. Always check the dates to avoid mining up old answered threads. Use the Site Map instead.
