How quickly a person can achieve Level 10 has no bearing on anything. Literally, nothing. There's no prize or reward of any kind. The only thing a higher level conveys is a given person has been here long enough to get there. And more importantly, has provided useful and helpful information to earn those points.

The members who have been here the longest have seen this happen over and over. And that's when newer users try to make some sort of self-imposed contest at getting to Level 10 as fast as possible. They end up burning out as they realize it's, a) going to take a long time (because you very often don't get any points where you deserve them) and, b) all you get for your efforts is another dot by your name.

I've been a member since 2001, still haven't made Level 10, and don't care if I ever do. The people who last the longest are those who don't give a hoot about points. The entire purpose of the forum is for users to help each other. That's really all there is to give or gain.

Also, do higher level contributors get less replying restrictions, I tend to hit a replying limit often and wonder since you guys reply to so many more posts and get so many more responses.

While the Hosts have never publicly published posting limits, they do exist. They are more stringent when you are still new. Over time, they become unnoticeable.

Senior members also reply to more threads because they have to do less research for answers because they have frequently answered the same question hundreds of times.

Yes, the posting restrictions should go away at level 2 and up.

It's been a while, and things might have changed, but I recall well after attaining level 6 that I hit a "Can't post more than every 30 seconds" warning. It happened when I was giving short responses to several questions in a row that were very easy. I figured it meant it was time for me to take a break.

Apple doesn’t document their spam management.

Details have shifted over the years.

I’d expect post throttling won’t be a factor by level 3, if not by level 2.

Pragmatically, level 6 and the lounge is the one to aim for, too.

And AFAIK and entirely FWIW, Legacy Contact doesn’t get you login passwords:

Certain information, like movies, music, books, or subscriptions you purchased with your Apple ID, and data stored in your Keychain—like payment information, passwords, and passkeys—can’t be accessed by your Legacy Contact.”

Which means regaining access here might be problematic.

Good to know, because when I was in the level 1 I would sit there for a couple of minutes for the restriction to go away, with my whole answer typed out. Then someone would beat me to it and type the same thing 😃

You won’t encounter much contention making replies to previously-unanswered posts older than a few days.

Who has the most points in the community and who is the fastest person to Level 10, just curious.
