Your FICO credit score is irrelevant. What you owe or don’t owe is also not a factor. Apple doesn’t approve or decline cards for addition to Apple Pay. It’s your banks responsibility to approve or deny adding the card and if approved send the token to Apple.

You account is probably being blocked by the Payment Network Operator (Visa, MasterCard, American Express etc.). Many banks also use the PNO as the verification service. Ask the bank why your card is being >red flowed< or red path<? Also ask the bank who does their verification services and who their Token Service Provider is?

If you want to run through troubleshooting steps, I’d be happy to run through them. If you want to talk to Apple Support, please call 1-800-MY-APPLE.

Hi Jeff, thank you for answering so soon. I've gone over this with my bank. They say that Apple acknowledges a card by sending them "pending". Then the bank will approve, but Apple never sent them the option for Pending. I spent a LOT of time on this, and more than one person for "Private Client," finally speaking with a supervisor. Same thing. She said "it's pretty simple...you input your card (in the Wallet app and/or my Mac), and they send a pending notice and wait for bank answer. The bank has not received the pending notice. I will call again with your questions, but I don't know what answers I should expect.

Of course I would appreciate trouble shooting steps, and I would LOVE to talk to someone at Apple! I spend more time searching for a live person than anything else. Tomorrow I will call the number you gave me. Do you work for Apple?

Kind regards,

Dr. Cherie

I have the same issue. It is apple, NOT the bank. They never got the "pending" notification. They just have to hit a button to okay. the same issue happened with a different card before now. My credit is 810. I owe nothing. It is APPLE. How does one get an Apple representative on the phone? I have a Starbucks card and a Master Card, along with Latest Transactions on there now.
