What to try if you can't add your Bank or Paypal card to Apple Pay

I had trouble adding my Paypal business card to the Apple Wallet: The Paypal app's "Add to Wallet" button simply didn't do anything. And trying to add it manually also didn't work because the bank (For PP CC: The Bancorp) wasn't found when I searched for it in the Wallet app.

Searching for solutions showed up a lot of generic replies that didn't help.

So, here's how I fixed this: The trouble was that the banks the Wallet listed were all from my home country, which isn't the USA. So I went into iOS Settings, General, Language & Region, and changed the Region to "United States". After that, using the (+) button in Wallet did offer to scan the CC with the camera (this was not offered with my original locale in Europe, which is strange), and the card was instantly recognized and added to Wallet.

So, to anyone having similar problems and to all those active helpers here: Please add this to to things to try: Change the iOS Region to the one that the card's bank is from, and that might resolve the issue adding a card.
