After installing watchOS 11 on my Series 8 watch the battery life has been very poor. Hasn't been 12 hours yet since I did it and I can already tell that there's an issue. Overnight the watch will use about 10% of battery. Last night it used over 30% and used another 5% while I was up for about 45 minutes.

Yeah, I noticed the same with my watch I came across while researching the issue 15 Apple Watch Battery Saving Tips on another thread, and it mentioned low power mode too. I tried the low power mode and the battery drain has improved for me as well. Worth sticking with it until the next update comes through. It’s been super frustrating, though!
All tips for "saving battery life" are not useful. My watch was fine, prior to watch OS 11.0. Now it's not. I would hope that my series 8 watch is good enough to support updated software.
I’ve been experiencing the same problem with my AW7.
Disabling Live Activities seems to have solved it.

And 11.01 actually made the battery drain problem even worse on my Series 9 than it was with 11.0!

I've been seeing the same battery drain from apple watchOS 11 and 11.0.1, I have a series 6 AW. Today was especially bizarre, I noticed this morning around 10am it was at 10%, it was charged the previous evening around 6 to 8 pm. The screenshot shows a drain dump probably close to 9am. Really strange. Maybe I now have a battery issue?
Did you already force restart your watch after the latest update?
Press and hold the Digital Crown and the Side button together for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again.
Any third party app. Apps need to be updated to comply with the new Watch OS. You might have old apps not updated in months or years by their developer. This apps may be less efficient in regard to battery consumption.
It varies with how many apps, emails, texts, songs, photos and other files and media stored on your Apple Watch. Much of syncing and indexing is done at night or when the Watch is on the charger. Depending on your usage patterns, it may not have a lot of time each day to complete its tasks.
I just turned that off so I'll see if it helps.
But after the first few days after the new watchOS, the battery drain got a little bit better, but it was still draining more that it did before the watchOS update. I if the Live Activities is playing a part in this. It's OFF now. Let's see what happens.
My iWatch Ultra 1 normally has a battery drain over 2 days. After turning off Live Activities and turning off all but three apps for notifications, unpairing my watch twice, waking the iwatch by touch only and reducing brightness to its lowest setting, battery is discharging a tiny bit slower. Still very unacceptable. My iWatch battery health after Apple Store ran diagnostics is 93%.
This was yesterday. None of the Salt Lake City, City Creek store techies were even aware there was an issue. LoL
Must of been a memo from Apple HQ to deny everything related to the iWatch iOS update 11.0 being the culprit for such a massive battery drain.
Oh well… waiting for update.
Charged 20min ago, checked the battery is already at 89%.
Restarting the watch seems to help, 6h after full charge battery is at 90%, but after a sequential charge, the behaviour repeats, so I reboot it pretty much every day now.

Same issue with 1 year old SE. Apple Store had no clue..100% at 8:30 this morning, now at 3:15 pm, 10% doing literally nothing on the watch. They didn’t seem too concerned because their watches weren’t having issues. It’s driving me crazy! I’ve tried all the suggested fixes: unpair and repair, completely reset the watch. Nothing has helped with the exception on one day this week, it held charge all day. Then the next day, right back to the same problem!
This happened to me as well on my WS9, and also happened after the update to WoS 10.
The Apple diagnostic did the trick for me both times, and live activities is still enabled. If you have AppleCare, give them a call. If not, bring it into a store and they can run the same diagnostic. I think it was a mobile resource diagnostic.
