How to get "Clean Up" feature for iPhone?

My understanding was that now in photos there is a new feature to remove objects from a photo and that it downloads automatically. It is called 'Clean Up'. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max with ios18 - how can I get this function?

I have the Apple iPhone 16 Max Pro when I was in England I had the erase tool function on pictures worked absolutely amazing. Loved it. Just can cut somebody out of the picture, but I've already taken.
Now I've got back to Germany in the EU. The application will no longer work. Is there any way to get around it?

Wait until April. Apple Intelligence is not yet available in Europe, and won't be available on European models while in Europe until then.

How to get Apple Intelligence - Apple Support (IE)

For iOS 18.1 and later, and iPadOS 18.1 and later, Apple Intelligence will not currently work if you are in the EU and if your Apple Account Country/Region is also in the EU. If travelling outside of the EU, Apple Intelligence will work on your iPhone or iPad if your language and Siri language are set to a supported language.
In April, many of the core features of Apple Intelligence will start to roll out to iPhone and iPad users in the EU.

If you look at the link posted by IdrisSeabright, you can see clearly, which iPhone models are able to support Apple Intelligence:

  • iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max; any iPad with A17 Pro or M1 and later; Mac with M1 or later
  • iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, or macOS Sequoia 15.1
  • Device language and Siri language set to a supported language
  • 4 GB of storage1

You need at least an iPhone 15 Pro (Max) to use Apple Intelligence on an iPhone.

Hi Leonie, All you have stated is well known, however I am sorry to say it does not address the fact that “older” iPhones could easily handle the clean up feature. It is just a very simple case of Apple dictating redundancy solely based on the whole FOMO fenomenon to sell more product. Sadly the planet and personal economy’s can not continue to deal with a consume and dispose of society. Kind regards

léonie doesn't address that because they have no control over it.

Because it has not been released yet.

"Clean Up" is a feature of the Apple Intelligence update coming later this year. It s not yet available for any device.

It will only come to iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models when Apple Intelligence is released.

Clean Up feature is only available on iPhone 15 pro, iPhone 15 pro max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 pro, iPhone 16 pro max, iPad with m1 chip or higher and macs with m1 chip or higher.

You're location also has to be set in USA and language has to be set to English (US) same as voice assistant settings. Then you can activate Apple Inteligence in settings which will allow clean up feature on your device photos app.
