If Apple decided to discontinue use of that tone the it was a decision that they made. It isn’t an issue for them to fix as it was an intentional decision they made. This is of course assuming this is one of the stock tones you are referring to and not a tone you purchased that has suddenly disappeared. You can submit feedback about it though but there are no guarantees that the tone will come back. There have been tones in the past that were no longer offered in later updates. iOS 17 lost some but I did notice at least one of those come back in iOS 18 (it was still used for one of my contacts as a text tone and because I purposely never made any changes to the tone for their contact it remained. I just couldn’t assign it to anyone else after iOS 17)…that particular tone though only seems to show as an option to assign as a ringtone and not a text.

Apple, why do you need to get rid of things people like? I’ve had the barking dog text tone forever. It’s the only one I would hear. The others are so quiet even with the volume turned all the way up. Stop fixing what isn’t broken. Please bring it back!! You are going to make people not want to update their phones for fear of losing something they like. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
