Is there a way to revert just the Calculator App back to the iOS 17 version?

Is there a way to revert just the calculator app back to the iOS 17 version? I don't like the running calculation if I am adding more than two numbers together and not knowing what my running total is without constantly having to press the equals key. Used to be for example you could add say 1256+2376 and the next time you pressed plus you would have the answer to 1256+2376 displayed before you typed the next number to add to that total. now you just have 1256+2376+....... showing on the screen until you hit equals. SO ANNOYING APPLE!!!

I hate the new calculator. I can no longer add a % to a number and see what that additional amount is. I need to then minus the new total from the existing. SO ANNOYING APPLE!!!!!

Please. How do I get my calculator back to normal?!

You cannot change the Calculator app.

You can let Apple know what you think they should change here:

Product Feedback - Apple

You can also look at third-party calculator apps in the App Store. One that is frequently recommended is PCalc.

Unfortunately when you go via the product feedback, apple don't allow you to complain about the Calculator app! Almost like they know hahah

Or, you could just put feedback under "iPhone." There are lots of built-in apps that don't have separate sections.

Apple doesn't read here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

Meanwhile, there are lots and lots of third-party calculator apps available. PCalc is well regarded.

Me too I want running totals and I don’t need to see that calculation across the top!

Tell Apple what you'd like to see:

And, until such time as Apple makes the changes you want (if they do), you should consider one of the many, many other calculator apps available in the App Store. Perhaps one of them will better meet your needs.

If it ain’t broke…

People have been complaining about the calculator for years. Apple is never going to be able to please everyone all the time. It is apparently not your turn to be pleased with the calculator.

And meanwhile, there are lots of better calculators available in the App Store. PCalc gets recommended quite a bit.

I totally agree. When I’m adding up lots of figures it’s too hard to get a running total along the way. Just revert back to the basic more simplified version please.

Why are you telling us? Apple doesn't read here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

If you must keep this version, as you state people had requested it, then at least give the majority of people who dislike its functionality immensely, the option of choosing which version they would like to keep.

How do you know it's a majority? I know it's easy to think that our individual preferences must be the most logical, the ones shared by most people. But that's a lot less true than we may think.

That way everyone is happy.

Apple will never be able to make everyone happy. If Apple gives the option to chose versions, there will be people who will be unhappy that they have to make the choice, that it complicates things and Apple should make it easier.

While you're hoping for Apple to make the changes you want to see, you might want to explore the App Store. There are lots of other calcuator apps available. One of them might better suit your needs right now, no waiting.

I absolutely hate this new Calculator update. I want to change it back to the original one in 17. What good is a calculator if it doesn’t show the running totals? Please give us a choice. Don’t lock us into something we can’t stand.

There were more users requesting the new calculator than users wanting no change. You only recourse is to submit feedback to Apple. If enough of you do so you may get a reaction. The reason for the change is that users were submitting feedback requesting the new features.

So for now you are locked into something you can’t stand. The majority rules.

Of course there are all kinds of calculator apps available for the Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Start looking for one that suits your needs.

Haha. My previous post was deleted by the masters.

Now, if the option of changing the interface to "reverse Polish Logic" was available, I would jump at it. That's how the HP calculators worked.

Reverse Polish Notation (RPN) is a mathematical notation that places operators after the operands they are acting on. It is also known as Polish postfix notation or postfix notation.
