iOS 18 Photos Text Color Issue

Hey Apple Users--Apple DID reply and they DID issue a fix. Have you been checking your emails? I've been using the fix for almost a month.

Do the usual EDIT with the PENCIL in upper right. Then PLUS SIGN in lower right. Then TEXT on drop-down. Then "Aa" Then tap the "Text" for menu and pick SELECT then push arrow twice till you see "FORMAT" then "MORE" then the COLOR MENU appears. Select your color. IT WORKS.

Apple apparently DOES monitor this board and issued a fix almost 3 weeks ago. Good luck. Best for 2025.

Dear Boston Bat - kindly see my post of 12-26. It is a bit circuitous, but it works and I'm SO HAPPY to be able to change my font sizes, types, and colors JUST LIKE BEFORE. This was an annoyance, but part of the challenges of a constant improvement. Best for 2025.

Same here. I add a simple message for a birthday or some such. Last week I wanted to send a photo with a message to someone who was dying. In the end I sent the photo and message separately 2 days ago and fortunately didn’t wait for this glitch to be fixed as she passed yesterday.

Not only is the Photos app really screwed up after the update. But no matter what I try I cannot change the color of text when I’m trying to write over a picture. Come on guys let’s fix this! My phone is a tool for work

However I find another solution. If you click on markup and do text. Highlight text and click the format button. There you can change color and edit. It’s works. But still a glitch in apples system. Thanks.

elayna81, do these steps below. It's a permanent fix and only needs to be done once:

Open your photo and click the 'edit' icon.

Click the "markup" icon at top-right (looks like the tip of a pen).

Select the pencil-eraser icon at the bottom.

Tap your photo.

Now you should be able to click the + icon and add text, change font colors, and edit normally.

Just upgraded to the new software. I need to edit text and note on photos for my work. Hope this gets fixed soon!!

Looks like they finally FIX the problem on mark up. I can now change the color and font.

Same problem here. iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 18.1.1

I markup photos daily and never had an issue until installing iOS 18. This is so frustrating.

I finally got it to work.

I filed one and still no update/fix.

12/11/2024 still no fix. New iPhone SE. color change was aok on earlier rev but 18.1.1 text color change is not possible.
