I received my new Magic Mouse USB-C model, running 3.1.4. The issue is that it does not scroll up or down when swiping on the surface. I tried it on 2 macbooks. The mouse does not scroll. I can click and point, but not scroll. My old magic mouse scrolls fine.
The USB-C Magic Mouse gestures do NOT work on 14.6.1 and 14.7.1. I tried both versions.
One needs to upgrade to 15.1.
But for people who cannot upgrade this is annoying.
Apple please post a work around for existing users so that older versions of MacOS will recognize the new USB-C Magic mouse gestures.
Is there configuration file one can add?

Yep- same. Upgraded to 15.2 and it started working.

Same issue. Just unpacked, am running Sonoma 14.6 on a macbook pro M1. No scrolling, and not recognised as Magic Mouse. Mouse running 3.14 or something. Upgrading now to Sequoia!
So finally corp allowed the upgrade to Sequoia 15.x and now the new magic mouse works.
What should we do if the device is older and can`t update to 15.2?
I am facing the same issue, but did't find any solution for it. If I upgrade to 15 os is it work? Can anyone confirmed it?
Same issue, mouse doesn't scroll. I bought it as gift to someone with a macbook pro that can't upgrade beyond Ventura 13.7. And now I can't even return it...
Sir, you shared all scroll reverse solutions but our issue is scrolling is not working. scroll reverse is not our issue.
