Why are my iPhone and Apple Watch notifications out of sync after updating to iOS 18.1?

Since I updated my IOS to 18.1 on my IPhone Pro 14 and my Series 9 watch to 11.1, my notifications are no longer in sync.

Example: I see a new email notification on my IPhone. I open, read then delete the email. Several minutes later my watch notifies me that I have a new email. The same one that was read and deleted earlier. I never had this delay and behavior before.

Did you try to force restart your watch and iPhone after the latest updates?

To force restart, hold down the Digital Crown and the Side button at the same time for at least 10sec, until the Apple Logo comes back again on the screen.

The next step would be unpairing the watch and connecting it again to your iPhone:

Well, restart seems to have improved syncing between the two devices, most of the time it just a couple seconds. On occasion its several minutes delayed.

Yes again this morning as well as other times; I received an email on my iphone, I opened it, read it, closed it. Then this morning 6 minutes later my watch beeps and notifies me of this email.
