Air pod 2 pro as a hearing aid

Just bought a pair. Nothing works as in Apple instructions. A hearing aid works like a “amplifier” for one’s ear. Well, it does. Connecting it to Apple tv 4 silences the soundbar leaving others to not hear what I hear. I’m deaf on one ear. I’m slowly loosing my hearing on the other. I do have hearing aids. It can’t compete with the quality that AP P 2 offers. Still, why can I not share the sound from Apple TV 4 with my Air pods pro 2 connected? /Bo

I'm not sure if this is helpful but my husband wears hearing aids. We had the same issue. He would connect his hearing aids to the tv, but then I was not able to hear the tv. His hearing aid company offered a special adapter that now allows him to connect his hearing aids to the tv, while still allowing me to control the volume for myself. That adapter came from the hearing aid company. Apple's hearing aid function is brand new and I have not heard of Apple offering an adapter like that. But it may be worth your while to either contact Apple Support or make an appointment at your local Apple Store to talk to them face to face.

Edit - I just did a Google search on - adapter to allow one person to listen to tv via airpods and the other to listen via tv speakers

The results were interesting. It seems there are solutions that allow you to do what you wish to do.
