Why does my phone now have to be unlocked to unlock my apple watch? This totally defeats the purpose of having a cellular plan on your watch and not having to have your phone with you when on a run or working out. This is driving me crazy but the option to turn it off is grayed out. This makes no sense to me. Can it be fixed?

Put in your watch passcode.
That would be a great solution, but there doesn’t appear to be a way to do that any longer. The passcode option no longer appears for me 😠
Unpair, then set up as New watch
(if it will not play ball, first force restart by holding in crown and side button together til Apple logo appears then release)
