Can I please get my music controls back on my Apple Watch?

I no longer have the ability to control the audio for Apple Music and Podcasts playing on my phone with my series 2 Apple Watch. I used to be able to pause and play, change tracks and adjust the volume. I’ve reset my devices, I’ve unpaired and repaired them, I’ve deleted and downloaded now playing, and I have turned audio auto launch on and off. Any other ideas? This function was the main reason to get the watch.
