what happens if I reset an Apple Watch series 1

I have an Apple Watch Series 1 that is no longer paired to my iPhone X as it is classed as Obsolete by Apple. It has lost time over the months it was never used and is 6 hours behind the actual time. I tried setting the time on the watch in Settings/Time but it only allows you to set the time ahead a maximum of 60 minutes.

So I was wondering what would happen if I reset it without it paired to an iPhone X or is there some sort of work around to allow me to do so? I also have an old iPhone 4s - does that support Apple Watch? I really only use the watch for the time and have kept it because I like the small 38mm form factor. Would it allow me to set the time directly on the phone or would I get some sort of error. I also have an old iMac (about 14 years old). Would that work? I thought I’d check with you all before resetting it. Cheers.

Did you already try these suggestions?

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure that your Apple Watch is connecting properly to its charger
  2. Restart your Apple Watch.
  3. Restart your paired iPhone.
  4. Try again to update your Apple Watch.

If the update won't start:

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap General > Storage.
  3. Delete the update file.
  4. Try again to update your Apple Watch.
