I downloaded chrome to Mac iOS Ventura and it won't open. Or it opens Google in Safari, which defeats the purpose of having Chrome. I didn't have this problem on Mac iOS Monterey. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, checked settings etc. What am I missing?

System Preferences >> Desktop and Dock
Scroll down to >> Default Web Browser <<
Change, from Safari to Chrome
Tested in macOS 15.1 Sequoia
I appreciate your reply but when I switch it to Google Chrome and double click on the icon nothing happens. Not sure if this makes a difference but I'm in macOS Ventura.
