Apple Watch not sharing its location to friends or family when my iPhone is left at home.

I fought with this for forever trying to figure out if I left my iPhone at home and wore just my cellular watch, it would show my current location as wherever my iPhone is not the watch on my wrist. I solved it today and wanted to share with everyone as this gave me a lot of frustration.

The big fix?

The iPhone needs to be plugged in. If your iPhone is at another location and is plugged in it will ping your Apple Watch for your location when others check. If it’s not plugged in it defaults to where your phone is. I hope this helps someone as this really was frustrating for me for a long time. Have a great day!
