In 2019 I got my Apple Watch Series 3 for my Bday and decided to unpack it just today, but it wouldn't turn on. Instead it is just displaying Apple Logo every 5 seconds while it is cgarging and this is it. Please advise what could possibly go wrong with the device.

After five years it's quite possible that the battery has failed even though it was not being used. Batteries chemically degrade over time even when not being charged and discharged. First, try a different charger just to confirm that it's not an issue with that. If a different charger doesn't help, make an appointment at an Apple Store or authorized Apple service center to have your Watch evaluated.

Lithium-Ion batteries do NOT deal well with being left for long periods without a charge.
In all likelihood, the battery is toast after sitting in the box for 5 years.
You will have to pay to have it replaced or just buy a new watch.
