Receiving Work Emails on Apple Watch on Cellular

I can't receive my work emails from my iPhone (using the Apple mail app) on my Apple Watch (Ultra 2) if I'm away from my phone and just on cellular. My Gmail emails are loading via the mail app when on cellular, so it must be a specific setting in the work emails that's blocking this.

My work IT team don't know the answer, has anyone successfully fixed this? I have seen a lot of entries around this subject from the last few years and people seem to have different success.

It would make a huge difference as it means I could go for a walk without my phone and get work emails on my Apple Watch.

Thanks for that - I’ve selected all the right mailboxes. The issue is that my work email (which runs via Microsoft Exchange I think) is not loading when I’m on cellular and away from my phone. It’s loading fine when I’m near my phone.

So I’m trying to find out what setting in the mail app / Microsoft Exchange my IT team at work has to update for that to sync properly.

Thanks for checking your settings.

I’m not sure what the issue could be with the Microsoft Exchange account. I would suggest to contact Microsoft to see if there is some kind of incompatibility with the Apple Watch (I doubt it) or to contact your cellular carrier to see if the issue is on their end.

On the Watch app on your iPhone, go to Mail > Include Mail and make sure the right mail accounts are selected.
