Trackpad randomly non-responsive after lid having been closed

So lately I have been experiencing more and more often that the trackpad on my MacBook 14" M3 suddenly is non-resposive. It happened the first time on a flight a couple of weeks ago, then it happened two times yesterday, and again today. The only way to solve the problem, is to reset the SCM.

I just updated to 15.1 and hoped that would be the end of this problem, but no …

I would assume this is just a software issue, since the SCM reset fixes it, or can it be hardware?

re: MacBook 14" M3

SCM ...? I have no idea what this is.

Note: No SMC or NVRAM on the M1/M2/M3/N4 SoC.

The best you can do if you have an issue— equivalent Shut down, close the lid 30 secs+ , reboot as normal.

Alright, guess it was just complete luck that it worked holding Shift + option + command then, haha.

Today it has also not worked doing that, so it makes sense that the Silicon Macbooks dont have SMC.

This is an EXTREMELY annoying bug, I have to say. Now it seems to happen pretty much every time I leave my lid closed for a while. Guess I will try reinstalling macOS 15 this weekend :(
