Updating to OS 15.1 Docking Station Display No Longer Works

I have a Macbook Pro 13" M1 model. My docking station worked with no issues until I updated to the 15.1 MacOS. I have tried to go to the display settings and hit the Detect Display button with no change. The rest of the docking station works with no issue as I'm typing on my keyboard connected to the dock right now. The audio outputs to the dock with no issues as well. The charging also works and the card reader as well. It is only the display that isn't showing. Is there something else I can do? I have a device that plugs into both USB C ports that essentially works the same as the dock and that works with no issues sending to the external display but it isn't feasible for me to connect that device when I'm in my home office and I travel with that particular device. I don't think I can roll back my OS since I've updated some other software that is updated for 15. Any tips would be appreciated.

that display appears to be a HD 1920 by 1080 display with VGA and HDMI inputs.

using a KVM switch can cause problems.

The Mac does not rely on windows-like side-loaded "Drivers" which are actually packages of resolutions and settings for a specific display. Instead, it goes straight to the immutable source -- it ASKS the display itself.

To get a Mac display to become active, you need the Mac to query the display, and the display to answer with its name and capabilities. Otherwise, the display will not be shown as present, and no data will be sent to the display. "No signal detected" is generated by the DISPLAY, not by the Mac.

This query is only sent at certain times:

• at startup

• at wake from sleep — so momentarily sleeping and waking your Mac may work

• at insertion of the Mac-end of the display-cable, provided everything on that cable is ready-to-go

• hold the Option key while you click on the (Detect Display) button that will appear in Displays preferences (from another display)

if the KVM switch in not in the correct position EXACTLY when the Mac sends it query, no answer will be returned from the display, and no data can be sent to the display.

HDMI cables at resolutions less than 4K are not particularly sensitive to cable lengths, as long as not more than a few meters, but every other protocol is VERY sensitive to cable lengths.

That dock looks like an ordinary USB-C dock with HDMI output, probably not an issue.

Consider that ANY of these components might have failed, and when used under the slightly different conditions of MacOS 15, is showing it existing defects now.

What sucks it probably is the docking station. The KVM works just fine as I have used it with one of those devices that is almost like a dock that plugs into both USB-C ports at the same time and it works. I was just hoping there might have been something. I tried the Detect Display thing and go nowhere.

That being said, does anyone have a docking station they would recommend?
