What settings do I use for Mac Mini and Philips 346E2 34" Wide Screen?

I bought this monitor about six months ago and it had thousands of rave reviews. I got it, connect it to the monitor. It turned on. But even thought the resolution is set to 3440x1440 the colors look strange, text on websites look like pixels are missing, frames around things when searching online is gone. I cannot figure out what to do and I have searched for hours online. I don't know if it's a setting on my computer, the monitor, or both

Mac mini, macOS 13.3

Getting this Monitor to Work:

You have used the correct resolution. So, try a different cable, preferably a 4K HDMI cable. This may be the adapter to use: USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Apple

"What settings do I use for Mac Mini and Philips 346E2 34" Wide Screen?: The monitor came with an HDMI cable...I connected that, then I swapped it for the USB C it came with, neither changed it. I do have a 4K HDMI I can use...do I still need the adapter if I use the 4K HDMI? Thank you for your help."

Getting a Monitor to Be Clear:

A. USB-C Vs HDMI:

Googling this, I can see that the USB-C is not for power --it is for device-pairing only. Also, it is USB-C 3.2. Your Mac only has USB 3.1. So, that, however, would play no role in this. HDMI is being used for the video and audio output. So, try another cable.

B. Single-Out this User:

For troubleshooting purposes, create a new Administrator user, and then see if you get this issue. If not, then it is an issue with your current user. If not, then it is an issue with your entire Mac.
