How transfer photos from android to regular Mac

Using phone Realme C35 which runs Android 13 (OS might be slightly customized by Realme though?). Also on a Mac Mini 2018 with Sonoma. My router is three meters away, WIFI working just fine (which phone is hooked up to), the Mac is hooked up to LAN through both cable and WIFI.

For the life of me, I can't find a way to transfer a couple of photos from the phone to the Mac. Have tried Airdroid (which always used to work just fine for years, but now won't connect locally). Tried Macdroid but never made it work due incomprehensive settings required (yeah, I'm probably getting daft).

Have tried various WIFI connections and USB cable straight between phone and Mac without success.

Can someone please let me know how to connect my Mac to my Android phone and transfer a couple of photos to the Mac?

Mac mini, macOS 14.7

You should be able to email or send by message.

You may be able to use a cloud service to upload and share.

You may be able to connect the phone to your Mac by cable and navigate to finder to see the photos folder or try Image Capture (built-in to your Mac) to see if the device can be accessed.
