Upgrading to Sequoia 15.1 made Apple Notes Excruciatingly Slow

Help! I use Apple Notes all the time every day and have hundreds of notes. After upgrading to Sequoia 15.1 the notes I use frequently are completely unusable, because when I type it takes a few seconds for each character to display.

This seems to be based on the note size and not anything else. I'm running an MacBook Pro with 32GB. (2.3GHz 8-Core i9)

I do not know if that can or can not be Turned Off

It would seem to defeat what this Feature is Deigned by Apple to do

Solve math in Notes on Mac

In the Interest of a correction to earlier posting.

It should read " over 6E and not " over 5E "

Notes is a good application for many things

But it is not really a good substitute for a Full Fledged Word Processing application

Yes, the Size of the Note can be affect by its size

It can be affected by what else is running on the computer at the same time

Then, there is what Cloud Based Account Notes is setup to use

Once a Cloud Based Account is used in Notes, the speed - reliability of the computers connection to the Internet comes into play

Using Notes, for generally note taking with few to no Images with Notes Account on iCloud over a wifi 5E connection to a Fibre Optic 1 GB up/down connection

Very few days occur

I have fiber optic at 5GB. My main note is used as a simple to-do list, which I use all the time, so I don't the overhead of a word processor. I almost exclusively use plain text, hardly ever images.

I saw my main notes were stored in iCloud, so I moved them to the hard-disk section and turned off iCloud. I saw that 15.1.1 was available so I upgraded. None of this helped: the app is still super slow. In Activity Monitor it usually takes up 100 to 250% CPU.

I suspect it's due to looking for calculations to complete, dates to click on, etc. Is there a way to turn off all these features, so I could have a simple note application again?
