Can I pause and resume a OS software update download?

I work with an unstable power connection and mobile data on a Mac mini with Ventura 13.2.1. I tried to update to Sequoia, but at 9GB after 3+ hours of downloading, my power went out for just longer than my UPS could keep my machine running. I don't see any kind of pause or resume option, only a cancel X, which I've tried, and does indeed cancel the download.

Is there some way to pause and resume these downloads? That would be so useful.

To my knowledge, no. Unless I've missed something in more recent versions of macOS, there's no "pause" for the download. If you cancel it, it will start from scratch. Perhaps someone else here will know of some sort of workaround.

Regards.

Have not had a need to use it, so can not speak directly on how well it works
