Indoor cycle trainer & Apple Watch Ultra - speed issue
I have the same problem, like this user:
Hello there, I wonder if more users have the Elite Direto XR turbo trainer and tried to pair it with the Apple Watch on the new WatchOS 10.
When I do so, I select the correct wheel size:
- 700 x 28mm
- or 2070mm
However, none of the above results in the correct speed. As soon as I start pedalling, I see the speed recognized as 250 - 300km/h.
On the official Elite website, they say that their turbo trainer uses some equation and the wheel size is actually 173mm.
The Apple Watch doesn't allow me to reduce the wheel size to less than 900mm.
When I tried to change the wheel size from 2070mm to 900mm, the speed also decreased to 60km/h which seems to suggest that if I was able to reduce the wheel size even lower as recommended by the manufacturer, to 173, the speed would be accurately calculated.
I am wondering, can someone suggest a different approach or is it something that Apple has to unlock in a WatchOS update?
I use the same trainer but with ultra watch
