When I stream a purchased show from the AppleTV app on my iPhone to my AppleTV, subtitles keep returning after pressing pause or rewinding. I thought I turned off the skip back setting, and I constantly turn the subtitles off. I’ve hunted for every possible setting, I’ve restarted both devices. How can I get this to stop?

Even with that setting corrected, the subtitles appear when I airplay to the AppleTV, not when I use the remote to play from the AppleTV. The assessment that receiving device subtitle settings override sending device settings appears to be incorrect.
AirPlay uses the subtitle settings as configured for the receiving device, not the sending device.
