When I try to update Monterey to Ventura it says "The Volume Cannot Be Downgraded"

I'm on a Apple M1 Max Mac Studio Pro, 32 gigs RAM, 500 gig HD 12.7.6 Monterey. Since I bought it, it's always been on Monterey. I'm a tv show composer and suddenly Logic 10.7.9 is giving me the spinning wheel of death anytime I use MIDI. Which is every second of my life. I don't have time for this since I'm 5 shows deep currently, so I figured I would update to Ventura. I downloaded the update and when I went to install it, I get "The Volume Cannot Be Downgraded". This makes no sense. Any suggestions? I really don't want to wipe my drive since I have 731 plugins for Logic and it makes me nervous, even though I have a Time machine backup. Any advice is appreciated!
