Office on iMac insists I Activate, even while I'm using it on my PowerBook and Android phone

Since yesterday, Office on my iMac insists I Activate, even while I'm using it on my PowerBook and Android phone.

Microsoft won't let me sign in to my account from Office, even when I'm already looking at signed pages in my MS Account through Chrome.

(I can't say what Office might do on Windows because every effort at installing it fails with the complaint that the file Advapi32.dll is missing, which it clearly is not. Advapi32.dll might be faulty, but it's clearly not missing)

What might I try, please?

Thanks and yes, I did that first. Please see (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/office-on-imac-insists-i-activate-even-while-im/29f7d64f-2e4a-41e2-88a5-203c6c6386a8)

FYI, if you or your clients were faced with problem involving one product from one, and two from another maker, would you really recommend ignoring the 'two from another?'

Your issue is with activation of a Microsoft product, right? at least that's what you say here:

Since yesterday, Office on my iMac insists I Activate, even while I'm using it....

and also signing into a Microsoft account from one of their products, which is what you say here:

Microsoft won't let me sign in to my account from Office, even when I'm already looking at signed pages in my MS Account through Chrome.

I'm not sure why you think Apple can fix an issue with Microsoft activation and licensing.

Thanks and I don't expect, or seek help from Apple.

I do think there might be many - at least hundreds here and many hundred thousand 'in the wild' who use Office 365 v 16.43 on MacOS 10.13.6 High Sierra.

Even if you yourself haven't, some of them might have encountered the same problem… and hopefully, found a solution that might help me, too.

Is that hope allowed, under your rules?

I'm not sure why you think it's fun to try to deny me whatever slight chance of help I have, and I ask you to hold your peace until you have find a way to help…

I don't make rules around here, I am not denying you access to anything, nor am I having fun at your expense. I don't give you any instructions or issue any orders. I simply suggested that your best course of action would be to seek assistance from MS. You then asked me to justify that, and I explained why. That's all. Deep breath. Good luck with your issue.

I'm less sure why you think you have anything to contribute.

Please leave this Question to people who are now, or remember using Office 365 v16.43 on MacOs 10.13, or have experienced the same problem with different versions of either… which I hope rules out all speculative suggestions, including your contributions so far.

By all means come back and try to help me when you have a positive suggestion…
