I have restarted phone after upgrade. Also checked Siri but found nothing about "Virtual Look Up" as suggested by other posters in another thread. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Settings - Search - Show related content : turn this on
Also, the iPhone will need time to scan the Photos Library again to classify the objects. Keep the iPhone connected to the charger over night (with a cable, not wireless).

It's at Settings>Apps>Photos, toward the bottom:
Make sure both those things are on. "Featured Content" is supposed to be "Memories" things, but some have reported that turning it on helps with visual lookup.

When you take a picture, Photo has to scan it. Scanning one picture is rather different than scanning thousands.
I just bought a 16, and it's working fine. You should leave it plugged in (maybe via the c-port rather than MagSafe) and leave it alone overnight for a few days.
I, too, have a 12 pro. It took a few days after update for Photos do scan all the pictures for visual lookup.
Thanks for tip...will need to show patience. Tried settings and couldn't find anything. Not sure if it's a IOS 18 phenom or something else. It's a great tool as I work with and see a lot of different plants.
Thanks Richard. Both those boxes were checked. I did reset memories but no change. I still don’t have plant id functionality, nor the leaf icon. Will shut down phone and restart to see if it changes anything. This is on an iPhone 12 Pro btw.
I've checked my settings and they are already as you have shown. I am on a 16 Pro. This used to be an instant thing. I didn't have to wait for a classification or scan. It just appeared when I took the picture. Haven't used it in a while so I'm not sure when it changed. Just noticed it when I tried to identify a plant that came up in my flower bed.
Any other suggestions?
