Is Itunes gone for good? Tried to download a song through iTunes, kept telling to login on Apple music. I don't have a Apple music account and I don't really want one. I just buy songs every no and then..

Did you log in with your Apple ID? You might need to be logged in with that before the iTunes Store in iTunes will show you the "Buy" buttons.

See Buy music from the iTunes Store on your Mac – Apple Support (UK). You need an Apple Music account to buy music but you don’t need an Apple Music subscription.

Apple Music replaced iTunes. You can still purchase individual songs or albums using the Apple Music app.
