Mail Notifications Broken on iOS 18.2?

I am having problems with mail on iOS 18.2. I have 3 emails and now only one shows up and no red notification on mail. Has anyone found a way to go back to the old mail? This one is stupid as I will decide which ones to open and delete.

This is happening to me as well. My Apple Watch buzzes and shows the email, but nothing appears in my Lock Screen. If I unlock the phone, and then pull down to see Notifications Center, the email is there.

I just want it to show up on the Lock Screen as it should . . . Seems to have started with 18.2.

Yes! Doing this simple setting allowed my exchange notifications to show up on Lock Screen/Notification center again for my exchange account! It seems, without having this function on, it overrides the normal notification settings for you primary inbox. Even if you don’t use the category style inbox! 🙄

This worked for me, thanks! I've got the badges back on the mail app, but any idea why, when you go to the Mail app and it shows your list of mailboxes, the numbers for each mailbox aren't showing off to the right side of it anymore. Any way to correct this?

I too am having a problem with email notifications in the Apple Mail app. I get no badges no banners and no notification sounds. When I open the Mail app it connects to the server and downloads whatever Email is there, but it doesn’t do it in the background on its own, even though push notifications are turned on. I spent an hour or two with tech-support on it with no resolution. They had to escalate the ticket, but I haven’t heard back yet. I don’t remember this issue happening with the Gmail app.. I start using the Mail app because with the update is actually become functional.

My issue is the the notification number not disappearing after I have opened the new email or marked an email as read… the number just sits there until I delete the email (sometimes that doesn’t fix it either)

so far the new mail app has been nothing but frustrating

I have tried all the suggestions and even deleted and reinstalled the app, but it is still not working properly. WHEN IS APPLE GOING TO RELEASE AN UPDATE TO FIX THIS ISSE? The notifications on all my other apps are working fine. This is a very basic function of what an iPhone should do.

For me I lost email sounds after Ios18 installed . They ( Apple) have released many updates and now on 18.2. They have totally ignored this problem. I and many others have lost money on missed emails .

Everyone with the iOS 18 is having problems with their email notification sounds Apple doesn’t seem to care there’s been thousands and thousands of complaints updates aren’t fixing the issue in the long run apples not what it used to be. May go back to android frustrating after now spending all this money on an iPhone 16 Pro Max

I actually had a call back today from Apple , from an Ireland call centre.

The guy was thicker than pig ****. Un aware of any email notification problems . And didn't want to listen to the problem. Tried to actually talk down to me .

That didn't end well.

A totally pointless call. No wonder £1000 phones don't work

I have the same problem, no notifications, no sounds, no banners nothing. They just don’t care about fixing this it’s not new been around since 18.2 including the new 18.2.1 apple you need to fix this issue. This is making users leave for better service.

I haven’t received new Mail alerts since the iOS 18 update. All notifications/tabs are on, I’ve done an insane amount of troubleshooting, and I’m getting new mail but the only way I know is I have to open my phone and actually look at the app. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. I’ve shut down and restarted my phone. Literally everything that I should do and it’s still not working.

You are correct I haven’t seen or heard notifications, like you I have wasted so much time trying to solve this. I give up at this point. One thing I did notice is in messages if you have favorites contacts pin to the top I unpin them and I now get notifications from them.

 should be embarrassed to have this crap going on I would think the beta testers would have noticed this if they hadn’t maybe they should try a little harder.

iOS 18.3 dropped today and still in the same problem. I cannot get mail notifications to show up on the Lock Screen. They're either severely delayed, don't show up at all, or they're buried in the Notification center. You have to swipe up to see them.

Ditto!! Nothing is being sent to my iPad. No alert sounds, no badges, nothing to let me know mail has been received. Same situation for my iPhone. These issues have been the situation since I installed ios18 on both devices.
