Apple News Fails to Load After iOS 18.2 Installation

I’m not too tech savvy. I would like to try your steps but I’m not understanding them. Can you explain again for me . Thanks

I too have family plan and it’s just not worth the money to wait when there’s other free news alternatives for the time being. I’m taking advantage the failure-to-launch to broaden my news-feed horizons.

If they are not going to support the app on iPad 7th generation then say so, but, it’s been a month now and the update didn’t fix it. The best way to get their attention is going to be through a mass exodus of money. I hope you reconsider and cancel. What’s the next app they only half-*** support and charge us for?

The fix that worked for me, downgrading to iPadOS 18.1.1, is no longer available; on ipsw.me, 18.1.1 is no longer "signed", only 18.2 and 18.2.1. If one had a backup from when the device was on an earlier OS, that would work. Go to YouTube and search "Downgrade iOS".

Aha - that’s a shame. I don’t tend to close mine in between use, so I didn’t experience that problem. Well hopefully if Apple do look at this thread this at least gives them a few more specifics around this problem to help narrow it down! I guess if you can, don’t close the app between uses if that’s possible?

I removed the AN app from my iPad due my frustration and irritation at its not working properly. I would have canceled it but it still works on my iPhone. I read about an 18.3 update coming out at some point. I guess we can hope for a fix but….

Fixed it!!! I tried all these other things and it turned out to be incredibly simple. I called Apple News and talked to a supervisor. She had me scroll to the left screen where the Apple News display had been. Then I pressed down. And went to Edit in upper left corner. Then add Widget. Search for News. Scroll past topic, and keep scrolling till you see the full Apple News layout. Select. And Voila. It is there. I cannot believe it.

sounds similar to my experience. A few days ago it would eventually update to 7 gen iPad. Last 3 days no luck. So I use. iPhone 15 til a new iOS comes out that allows the iPad access

The only place I have a subscriber news feed is in the stock app on my 7 gen iPad.
