Apple Music in countries other than the US

I have a subscription to Apple Music. I live in the US. Will I be able to access Apple Music while in other countries?

Would using a VPN affect my access? I use Proton VPN generally, and always if I’m using a public WiFi, e.g., in a coffee shop or library. I could set the VPN to a server in whatever country I’m in, or to a server in the US, if that would matter.
