Linking 13-year-old's Apple Music profile to Amazon Echo Spot fails

Hi everyone,

I’ve learned through this community that Apple Music profiles for children in a family plan can’t be linked to Amazon Echo devices unless the child is at least 13 years old.

I’m experiencing an issue with my son’s Apple Music profile. He turned 13 last November, and I’ve successfully used his profile with the Apple Music app on an LG Smart TV. However, when trying to link it to an Amazon Echo Spot (a gift he received this Christmas), the process consistently fails with an error message stating that the link cannot be established.

Interestingly, if I use my wife’s Apple Music account instead, the linking process completes without any issues.

Does anyone know of a workaround for this problem? Has the minimum age limit for linking been raised recently? Additionally, if age is the issue, why does the problem only occur with the Echo Spot and not the LG Smart TV?

Thanks in advance for your help!
