Beats Solo 4 compatibility issue with Samsung tv's?

Hi,

I have owned a Beats solo 3 and connected them via bluetooth to a Samsung QA65QN90 tv for the several years. I purchased 2 x beats solo 4 for the kids for Christmas early December and paired to the tv via bluetooth on Christmas day. Both Beats Solo 4 headphones can pair and connect to the tv via bluetooth but the connection immediately drops after a second. (I am only trying to connect 1 pair of headphones at a time)

I can connect to the Samsung tv with several other bluetooth devices and headphones including the Beats Solo 3 so i know it is nothing to do with the tv.

I have spoken to Apple support and them are unable to help citing compatability issues, Samsung support advise this is an Apple device bluetooth issue.

I have checked firmware updates on the tv and solo 4 and unplugged / turned off all devices several times after unpairing. Nothing works.

I have now attempted to take the Beats solo 4 back to the store where purchased since they dont work with the tv and have been advised I cant return them as (1) the box has been opened, (2) the headphones work with some other devices and (3) I should have checked the compatibility before purchase (not quite sure how that is possible) and (4) i did not return within 14 days of purchase. (Apple this is in contravention of the ACCC fit for purpose consumer warranty FYI)

Kinda dissapointed a cheap $50 pair of Sony headphones connect via bluetooth to the tv with no issue but my Beats solo 4 heaphones which cost 6x more cant.

Has anyone else had issues connecting Beats Solo 4 via bluetooth to Samsung tv's? How did you resolve the issue or do i need to chuck the Solo 4's out and use another brand that is compatible with Samsung tv's?

thanks

Beats

when it comes to bluetooth then it's never a question of direct compatibility between speaker and device

Bluetooth use what is called Bluetooth profiles

List of Bluetooth profiles - Wikipedia

if both devices support in this case the a2dp profile it should work out of the box, at least I never had issues with bluetooth speakers from any devices.
