New iPhone not connecting to 2010 Chevy Malibu aux

I got the new iPhone 15 for Christmas, but my car was in the shop getting worked on so I was using my dad’s car. My phone connected perfectly every time to the aux cord that was plugged into my dad’s car.

Today on the other hand, I got my car back, Chevy Malibu 2010, took the same exact aux cord from my dad’s car and plugged it into my car… doesn’t work. My phone is not recognizing something I feel like, because normally when plugged into it make a little scratchy noise, or my music will pause, but nothing. Am I missing a setting that I need to check? I even got a new aux cord to see and nothing!

I even plugged the cord back into my dad’s car and IT WORKED!

please help me or tell me what I can do (other than get a new car…)
