How can I tell if my AirPod Pro charger is authentic?

I got the AirPod pros 2 as a gift. I was beginning to wonder if they were fake due to the charger it came with. The serial numbers appear to be real (with warranty), FindMy works, etc. the charger it came with first appeared to be USB-C but upon inspection it has little grooves on it (see image below). It kind of looks like micro USB but it still has the elongated oval shape. I searched online and the chargers are supposed to come with a different type of cable? It fits the charging port but does not charge. Only my MacBook Air laptop charger works. Not sure what I should do or what this charger is even compatible with.

Your USB-C cable is definitely not supposed to have those sketchy lines on it. An original charging cable should look like [image attached], which came with my iPad ordered directly from apple. That’s all I can say, yet, it does still not mean your AirPods are fake, I know of other cases where original Apple devices ordered from a third-party reseller came with fake plugs/cables.
