Amber light not turning on for AirPods charging

Last night I had my AirPods in while I went to sleep and I woke up and charged them (because they were dead) before I went out to my friends house. As I was walking home I tried using my AirPods and they wouldn’t work because they were still dead, that’s weird because I charged them I went home later and tried to charge them again but I noticed that the amber light wouldn’t turn on. I tried forgetting my AirPods in setting but I think that just made it worse because now I don’t know if my warranty is still there.
