AirPods not notifying of incoming calls
AirPods do not notify me of incoming calls when using them. My phone doesn’t ring just vibrate and my AirPods. Don’t do anything when I get a call.

I had this problem. After reading a lot of suggestions that did not work. And unhelpful stuff like: "turn up the volume" (duh) I found a workaround to this BUG:
Put an airpod in your ear. This will enable it, so that it shows up in Settings.
(test: Call yourself from someone else's phone. Verify that the call notification did not come through. Or it might be super faint/unhearable).
Scroll down to Hearing Assistance in Ipod settings
Turn OFF Hearing Aid feature.
(test again: Call yourself again from someone else's phone. Verify that the call notification did come through. On my phone it was very audible. Almost loud).
Then, Turn ON Hearing Aid feature. - the calls should still work.
(test again: Call yourself from someone else's phone. Verify that the call notification did come through. On my phone it was very audible).
Problem solved. For me.
Now here's where this is going to get frustrating: Apple likely has an uninitialized variable in their software, so almost ANYTHING could randomly turn it on or off. For me, I just happened to see it fixed with the Hearing Aid feature. For you it might be something else. Sadly, this may require you to just mash buttons, turn features on/off one at a time, and retest...until something works.
Good Luck.
I have the same problem with AirPods 4 with anc. There are many discussions that the that the problem is due to a bug with the AirPods firmware
