Timer doesn't ring in my AirPod after I changed it

two days ago, I changed my timer ringer. Now AirPods do not play the timer, but I can only hear timer from the phone. If my phone is in another room, this obviously causes issues. I changed the timer back to the original ringtone, but the error persists.
