Issues with audio formats on apple tv with Sonos

My setup:

Sonos beam gen.2 -> hdmi eArc to TCL TV

Apple tv (4k 3.gen with TVos 18.2)-> normal hdmi

Cec enabled and audio on TV is set to passthrough. The Apple tv audio settings are set to Auto - Dolby Atmos.

The Apple tv (or Sonos) seems to struggle when changing between audio formats.

If I view Dolby Atmos content (Hbo max) and then change to another app without Atmos (Youtube), the sound are suddenly gone. Then suddenly, the speakers starts working in Youtube, but then it's muted when I go back to watch Atmos content.

I’ve tried to change the apple tv settings to Dolby Digital 5.1. This almost got rid of the problem with audio suddenly disappearing, but it would still happen occasionally. And of course no Dolby Atmos.

Has anyone else experienced problems like this?
