iCloud Keychain/Passwords on Windows NOT secure AT ALL

Am I missing something here? I was hoping to use iCloud Keychain on my windows PC. I managed to get it installed and working. I installed the browser extensions. Now when I need a password, I click on the field in the web browser, and it sends the 6 digit code to the SAME COMPUTER. Literally like 2 inches away on the screen. So, anyone that logs into my computer can get access to every single password that I have stored in keychain because they need no additional authentication.

Why would the security codes not be sent to your phone, which is what happens EVERYWHERE else in the Apple ecosystem, because 2FA.

I was hoping to use this because my parents wanted to share some passwords with me and it seemed easier than 1Password, but I'm shocked at the lack of security. I've searched everywhere for a setting and find nothing to change this. Am I missing something?
