Possible malicious update on AirPods

Does anyone driving the AirPods pro (second generation) have any issues with sound quality being much lower than on other music services. My other headphones sound great with Apple music, so it makes little to no sense that the party that makes both would govern, or distribute a bad performance update on their own product; so I’m asking anyone out there for your thoughts.? Thanks
