airpods gen 3 showing as seprate devices

I currently own a pair of Generation 3 AirPods that I use fairly regularly, I had misplaced the case back in November and bought a third party replacement case so I could continue to charge and use them and have had no problems up until recently when my AirPods began to simply either not connect when removed from the case, not work if the case was dead (even if the AirPods themselves were fully charged), or as of recent will only connect one bud at a time and appear as two separate devices in my Bluetooth settings, I was wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem or if someone may know how to fix it
