AirPods Pro 2 static/crackling noise or skipping only when connected to MacBook Pro

Hello,

I bought a pair of AirPods Pro 2 last year and they worked absolutely fine until recently. I now hear static/crackling sounds or the sound skips, but only when playing music or videos on my MacBook Pro M1. Sound when connected to my iPhone is absolutely fine.

I updated my laptop’s software yesterday, tried tips I found online like turning Bluetooth off on my phone when using my laptop but nothing works and the problem seems to be getting worse as time goes by.

What can I do to fix the issue? I am guessing it is an issue with my laptop but I never changed the sound settings on there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
